From 15 September the price of Digi pre-paid SIM cards and top-up vouchers will increase by 6% as the carrier indicates it can no longer absorb bthe cost of the 6% Government Tax which is charged on almost every product. This means that an RM 10 top-up will cost RM 10.60 and an RM 50 will rise to RM53. IMO the costs are still very reasonable when compared to Europe.
Despite the slightly lower costs of calls and SMS on post-paid lines over 75% of customers across the main telcos in Malaysia prefer to stick to pre-paid.
