Thought I'd give this event an a mention seeing that it combines very good black and white photography, Penang heritage and the and a charity sale all the proceeds go to a very good cause, National Autism Society of Malaysia.
The event opens at 2pm on Saturday 17 December at the E&O Hotel and features over 100 photographs by 15 photographers. It runs for a week with a heritage and photographic talk at the hotel at 2:30pm on Sunday 18 December.
Is there a historical society in Penang? We want to try and find a good photo of Penang road from 60's or earlier and get it enlarged to wall sized for a feature wall in our house. (like the prints of New York and Paris etc)
ReplyDeleteWe have seen a few books at MPH but these would not enlarge very well.
Ps can you enable anonymous comments on your blog.
The best I can suggest is: http://www.pht.org.my/ and also here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Penang-Heritage-Trust-PHT/206250309437981?sk=info
ReplyDeleteAs to anonymous comments, it is a conscious decision not to allow them. Previously I have found that allowing anonymous comments seems to encourage higher numbers of spam messages and adverse comments about outlets where it is quite clear they are coming from competitors. The blog is demanding enough on time as it is and I simply don't have the time, or indeed the inclination, to add the burden of anonymous comments filtering. While it's unfortunate if it prevents comment from genuine readers, for now, it stays as it is I'm afraid.
Thanks for the Penang heritage trust link I've not been able to find anything like this before. It's good to know someone is keeping an eye on developers knocking down what makes Penang special. Fair enough on the anonymous comments decision.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Craig.
